Getting Started with Buddy

Last updated: 2026-10-18

1. Sign in

Open Buddy and sign in with Google. In the iOS app you can also sign in with Apple. Signing in with Google is also how Buddy gets access to your Google Ads account, so use the Google login that can see the ad accounts you want to work on. Connect Google Ads explains exactly what that access covers.

2. Trial credits

New accounts get free trial credits: 25 if you sign up with a business email domain and 10 with a free email provider such as Gmail. Credits pay for the AI model behind each reply. When they run out you can buy a pack or subscribe to Buddy Pro; see Credits & billing.

3. Pick the account

If your login can reach more than one Google Ads account (for example through a manager account), ask Buddy to list them and tell it which one to work on. Customer IDs look like 123-456-7890.

4. Ask something useful

Buddy works best with a specific question and a date range. Good first prompts:

Reading data and making recommendations never changes your account. When Buddy proposes a change, it is staged for your approval first; see Approvals & safety.

5. How long replies take

A simple answer usually arrives in 10 to 30 seconds. Audits and multi-step work pull several reports and can take a few minutes. You can press Stop at any time.

On your phone

The iOS and Android apps use the same Buddy account and credits as the website.
