Approvals, Undo, and Safety

Last updated: 2026-10-18

The rule: Buddy never changes your Google Ads account until you approve the specific change. Reading reports, auditing, and recommending are always safe.

How a change gets made

  1. You ask for something, for example "pause the three worst keywords in Brand".
  2. Buddy works out the exact operations, describes them, and stages them. A tray above the message box shows how many changes are waiting and says "Nothing has run yet."
  3. You reply CONFIRM (or a clear yes such as "go ahead") or press Run in the tray. Only then does Buddy send the changes to Google Ads.
  4. Buddy reports what succeeded and what failed.

Saying "don't confirm" or "not yet" will not run anything. Your CONFIRM covers the plan you were shown.

Discarding a plan

Press Discard in the tray, or type discard or cancel (several languages work). Discarding is handled immediately, never sent to the AI model, and costs nothing.

Stopping a reply

Stop ends the current reply straight away. A stopped reply is charged as a plain chat message, and one stopped before anything happened costs nothing. If you stop while approved changes are being applied, any change already sent to Google stays applied.

Undo: what it can and can't do

Before every change, Buddy records the previous state. For 7 days you can ask Buddy to undo the most recent change. Undo is not a magic button: Buddy shows what the setting was before and stages a new change to put it back, which you approve like any other.

Some Google Ads actions cannot be reversed through the API at all. Buddy will say so instead of pretending:

Extra checks on sensitive actions

Uploading customer data (for example Customer Match or enhanced conversions) requires you to confirm that you have consent to share that data with Google. Buddy also rejects malformed changes before they reach Google, such as a "keyword" that is really a sentence, or more than 50 keywords in one operation.
