AI Playbook for PPC

About this video

John reflects on two Instagram reels — including a mortgage broker who shared his 2025 business plan openly — and what they say about how marketers use AI tools like Cursor and ChatGPT. His point: there's no magic. Prepare the tools with real context and guardrails, coach people on how to use them, and don't expect to get it right the first time.

0:07was watching I was watching two reals today. The first one was uh by a friend MK Mistro Bruce on Instagram MK and he had posted about his business plan. It was intriguing to me. I mean, he mapped out all the 2025 for his team and then he decided to hold classes and share his business plan openly. No secret. And he's in the the mortgage industry, right? And that was interesting because uh for many reasons.

One, as a as a broker, as somebody that runs their own business and has a team, you don't want to give away your jewels to everybody. But he did that. I mean, he he took his business plan, he put it on a PowerPoint, every detail and laid it out full of energy for his team and and for others, right? The second real CJ had posted was about a hundred year old veteran who had ran a red light following a a truck, served in World War II, and he came to court, took off his hat, and came with a tie, buttoned up with his dressing, everything, the whole nine. He was prepared, even though he didn't have to be. came into court prepared, told his story, told the truth, answered all the questions, didn't add any other flavor, nothing else, and the judge dismissed it. To me, uh, this

parallels us using AI, cursor for coding, CAD GPT for context and for analysis. Are we preparing these tools? Are we putting guard rails out there not just for ourselves, but is it in a place right now that we just complain about sharing that the tool is doing of what we're putting in it and we know what it is or do we stop complaining because it's harder to do? And do we get out and coach people and teach people how to use it? How to use cursor? Why you should use cursor for coding?

and that there is no magic. You can have a 100 agents, but that doesn't mean you're going to make a product or have any product. I see lots of posts. I see lots of things out there. Oh, yeah. I got these six agents and these 12 bots and this and they just did this in five minutes, but there's no output. There's no beginning. There's no middle and there's no end. We don't see it.

And if we see anything, we only see jargon. I did this and I saved $5 million. I I think the point of the two reals and then tying this together with AI cursor specifically and then Chad GPT uh for all the papers that are being written in the business white papers and the analysis that's being done out there is that planning is okay. Be prepared to use the tool set guard rails. Number one, make sure when you're using cursor, you download all of your packages that you're going to need, right? It could be something from a GitHub repository. It could be something from a a Python package that is out there, right?

3:32Whatever it might be. So that when you're working with these tools, the tools can be thoughtful along with you. And you're not going to get it right on the first time. I mean, it doesn't matter if you got 10 bots or 100 agents working on the same thing. It's not going to get it right on the first time. It's rare that anything in this life is right the very first time. I mean, it just doesn't make sense. It takes experience. And I think what MK and to roll this back into MK, I think what he's saying is that the more that he can share his experience, right, the more valuable that is to him because he's going to have smarter people around him that are going to trust him, want him in the future to provide them with more information. And then other people are

going to ask them, not everybody's going to do this, but other people are going to ask him where he got it from or where they got this information from. And they some of them are going to play it back to MK. And then that 100year-old veteran that got a ticket wiped out, he came to court clean. He came to court respectful and was open about his mistake. He embraced it. He took it on. He was on time and he looked better than the lawyers. And I think there's a lot to be said to be prepared and to be clean, but to own up to the mistake. And so putting those together with AI, AI is letting us know that it made a mistake.

So I don't know if we should be so critical and have these wild expectations because it is the end user. Are you asking it the right questions? Are you preparing it before you go in to do the work that you need to do? Do you know what you're looking for? And are you asking the right questions? Are you prompting through questions, not prompting through telling? two different things. Anyways, just had it was a very interesting thought that had come across after watching these two um inspirational videos uh from two people that I love and I care about and that mean the world to me. So, anyways, hope you have a wonderful Friday. Remember to prompt smartly when you're using cloth.

Don't give up. It's not going to get it right the first time. And I encourage y'all if y'all are building products, post it on YouTube. do it on a Substack, get it on Reddit, get it out in the world and share so people can learn and and be open to all the opinions. There's no one one way. And let's let's Yeah, that Yeah. Good luck. Peace and love, y'all.
